MUN Northwest is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that directs the largest Model UN conferences in the Pacific Northwest. During Emily's tenure, she served in over 10 distinct Secretariat and Staff positions. Notable achievements include spearheading the organization's largest conference (950 attendees), pioneering a high school media internship, interviewing honorable speakers like Former WA Governor and US Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke, and guiding over 500 delegates in debate. Emily's dedication to MUN Northwest extends to her current role as one of ten Board members, selected from the organization's top alumni.

KCSC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that aims to offer more accessible student volunteer opportunities. Emily founded it during COVID, when she noticed low student engagement in my community. To date, the KCSC executive team has organized 70+ events, attracted 60+ members, collected 1000 lbs of food donations, and fundraised $1000 (distributed as a need-based scholarship).

MoCamps is a free virtual summer camp that offers day lessons in math, coding, flute, and Kung Fu. Emily orignially founded it to fill the gap in extracurricular education caused by the pandemic. She now teach 6 weeks of lessons each summer, and has been able to train 3 instructors to teach their own classes, attract over 270 students from across the U.S. to learn, and build the school by hosting in-person lessons this year.

As a USA Kung Fu Team Member and 10-year Black Belt athlete, Emily gives back to my community through teaching at her academy. Her responsibilites include: leading regular classes, summer camps, performances, and the training of assistant instructors. Emily annually teach around 200 students, annually leads 15+ performances across Washington, and trains 5 new instructors per year.

As an intern at NSMS, Emily used her previous band experience to lead the guitar, piano, flute, trumpet, and percussion classes. She taught around 30 middle school students per class, and also worked with her fellow interns to instruct the students on how to march. Towards the end of the program, Emily and her team trained the students to march in her city’s local July 4th parade- which annually holds over 2000 viewers.

The University of Washington's Sensors, Energy, and Automation Laboratory is a renowned STEM research center. Emily's role involves supporting aspects in its business and operations, spanning from writing grant applications to aiding ongoing research projects. Notably, these projects include developing carbon nanotube sensors, electrohydrodynamic-based masks, and other cutting-edge initiatives.
